Oxfordshire walkers warned after ‘human poo’ spotted

A warning has been issued to walkers, after ‘human poo’ was spotted in an area of woodland.

The warning was issued on the Spotted: Steventon & Drayton Facebook page this afternoon (July 23).

The defecation, which appeared to be made by a person rather than an animal, was seen at Steventon Copse alongside some baby wipes.

The anonymous poster warned the community: “Watch out on your dog walks, people are pooing in the woods! Human poo (unless there are bears lurking in the woods) and baby wipes found at the copse on the main path.”

If the individual who fouled is identified they could face a fine under local by-laws.

Under the Local Government Act, it is against the law to ‘urinate or defecate’ in public.
